Just imagine, smarter, faster, and more fair health insurance. That’s what artificial intelligence (AI) can provide—and this study explores how it’s already being used in health insurance today.
The research reviewed dozens of new studies and found that AI helps insurance companies in many ways. AI can detect fake claims, make it easier to price more accurately, automate repetitive tasks through chatbots, and even help customers get the proper coverage they deserve. AI can also facilitate cooperation among doctors and insurers by reducing the ambiguity of medical records.
But not all is rosy. There are big hurdles also. Most of the workforce working in insurance is not yet aware of how to implement AI applications properly. And there is a lot of sensitive data involved also, which creates serious privacy concerns. Unless companies handle that information with care, it can be misused.
But the potential is huge. AI can save costs, improve service, and even create new insurance products that we haven’t seen before. For Saudi Arabia and other countries, implementing AI can lead to a stronger, more secure, and customer-centric health insurance regime.
In short, AI is not just a buzzword—it’s a nascent tool that can make health insurance smarter and more equitable for everyone, if used wisely.
